Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is not a happy man despite scoring on his competitive debut for Nigeria and the Super Eagles against South Africa.

Turkey-based midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru may have found the back of the net for Nigeria on his competitive debut but the 23-year-old was left a bitterly disappointed man as the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa.

The former Manchester City academy star was Nigeria’s hero as he cancelled South Africa's first-half opener to earn Finidi George's side a share of the spoils in their crucial World Cup qualifier on Friday night.

Dele-Bashiru's joy, however, was short-lived as he was forced off the field just moments after his decisive goal, leaving the Hatayspor midfielder to reflect on a bittersweet debut.

Taking to Instagram, the youngster expressed his frustration, writing:

'Happy to Score on my competitive debut for Nigeria, disappointing not to come away with 3 pts, now all focus is on Monday.'

The Super Eagles were left to rue missed opportunities as they were once again unable to secure all three points, making it three draws from three matches in their World Cup qualifying campaign so far.
