Manchester City midfielder Rodri is aiming to make a surprise return this season, despite initially being ruled out until next year due to a serious knee injury.
The 28-year-old suffered ACL ligament damage in September's 2-2 draw with Arsenal and underwent surgery.
He has set his sights on a comeback within six to seven months and is determined to contribute to City's season.

Rodri plans to return to action sooner than expected
Speaking on The Rest Is Football Podcast, the Ballon d'Or winner said: "My target is to come back this season. In terms of my mentality, it's going to be positive for me to not give up the season."
"I don't want to run [go too fast in the attempt] – I don't want to make mistakes. But that's my mentality.
I don't know when – my target is six, seven months, but the physios will dictate."
City have struggled in Rodri's absence, and are currently on a six-game winless streak, with just one clean sheet in their last 8 games.
A defeat at Liverpool this weekend could very well signal the end of their title defense, as an 11-point gap may be too much to overcome.
