The Borussia Dortmund star could be on his way back to England next summer but it will take a record fee to secure his services
Jude Bellingham will be the hottest property on the market next summer and a host of teams are already circling around the 19-year-old. What team would be a perfect fit for him?
Liverpool
Bellingham has specific attributes that would suit Liverpool perfectly. The Reds are in dire need of a player with his skill set and physicality. Whatever plan Klopp has for the future of Liverpool must include a midfield overhaul.
The next generation of 21-year-old Curtis Jones and 19-year-old Harvey Elliott are yet to prove that they deserve a spot in the starting lineup long-term. The veterans, James Milner and Jordan Henderson are clearly unable to keep up with a long European season at an elite level.
Manchester City
The long-term future of Bernardo Silva has been a talking point for two consecutive summers and he may finally be allowed to depart next year. City will need a world-class replacement and that is what Bellingham is.
Ilkay Gundogan is another one with an uncertain future in Manchester. His contract expires next summer and he could return to Germany. All of these possibilities mean there will be a strong opening for Bellingham and Pep Guardiola will be expected to make him a priority signing.
Chelsea
Chelsea are not short of numbers in central midfield but there seems to be a lack of real quality in progressing the ball into the final third. The Blues still lack one player who can provide line-breaking runs and incisive play.
Jude Bellingham and new coach Graham Potter appear to be a compatible match and his pressing game would be a huge bonus. However, Chelsea might find it tough to persuade the 19-year-old to swap Germany for a move to Stamford Bridge considering the plethora of options on his table.
Manchester United
Manchester United are a team short of dynamism in midfield and Bellingham would offer manager Erik ten Hag a different profile in the middle of the park. United missed out on signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the summer but Bellingham would offer some of the same qualities.
While Bellingham does not possess the same level of tactical awareness as De Jong, he more than makes up for it with his dribbling and ball-carrying ability, which would be a massive asset for Manchester United.
