United coach Ruben Amorim has been recorded in a clip passing a special message to Suluhu before his players signed the shirt.

“Hi Dr Samia, I know that you are in a conversation with Sir Jim about a conservation project in Tanzania and we hope it goes well and we know you are a huge Manchester United fan and I hope to see you soon here at Old Trafford,” Amorim said in the video.

Suluhu also presented the United boss with a Taifa Stars jersey as a gesture of appreciation for what she had received from the Premier League club.

Ratcliffe also visited Tanzanian giants Yanga where he met the club’s president Hersi Said and was also presented with a jersey.

There is hope that Tanzania can leverage United's worldwide popularity to promote the country as a favourite tourist destination.
