Manchester United are reportedly preparing a sensational move for Chelsea's Raheem Sterling.

Manchester United’s sporting director Dan Ashworth has reportedly initiated contact with Chelsea over the signing of England international forward Raheem Sterling

The 29-year-old winger is one of those who have been banished by the club in their bid to shed some weight from their over-bloated squad.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has publicly stated that he no longer counts on the former Liverpool star, and it is believed the club has communicated to him in private to seek a future elsewhere.

He has been dropped from squad dynamics, and as Pulse Sports reported, he has been stripped of his squad number, with new signing Pedro Neto handed the number 7 shirt

Manchester United prepared to swap Sancho for Sterling.

Despite Erik ten Hag saying his dispute with Jadon Sancho has been resolved, the player and club continue to seek a solution that places the former Manchester City winger’s future away from the club.

He has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, with the French champions having reached an agreement on personal terms; however, PSG are still mulling over the move and are yet to table a formal offer.

The Telegraph reported today that the Red Devils sporting director, Ashworth, contacted Chelsea today and proposed a deal in which both clubs would swap Sterling and Sancho.

It remains to be seen what type of deal they work out, but Sterling's £300,000 per week deal is believed to be unrealistic for Manchester United to match. He will be expected to take a pay cut should the move eventually pull through.
