The Manchester United takeover saga is set to be over in the next few days according to a bold new claim emanating from Qatar.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani will reportedly be confirmed as Manchester United’s new owner in the coming days.

Since the Glazers put the Red Devils up for sale back in November, the Qatari billionaire has been at the forefront of a bidding war to complete a deal. A total of six bids have been lodged since then, going head-to-head with Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The protracted takeover process could be completed within hours, according to Qatari outlet Al Raya. It is also being suggested by the same outlet that the Glazers will sign their purchase contract as soon as possible.

It remains to be seen if this new report will prove authentic but with a potential deal edging close, it appears the disagreement between the Glazer siblings could be nearing resolution.
