Manchester United are expected to welcome back Raphael Varane for the crucial visit of Wolves this weekend but there are huge question marks surrounding the fitness of star forward Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United sit 4th in the Premier League standings, a solitary point ahead of Liverpool who seem to be in the form of their lives.
With Wolves coming to Old Trafford this weekend, anything less than a win would be a bad result and Erik ten Hag will have relished having a week’s rest to prepare his troops.
Varane back for United, Rashford doubtful
The United manager revealed some team news ahead of the weekend’s clash.
French defender Raphael Varane is set to return from injury after a month out of action.
His return to the side would be a huge boost and allow Luke Shaw return to his preferred role at left back, which restores balance to the side.
However, and perhaps most importantly, there are significant doubts regarding the involvement of top scorer Marcus Rashford.
“He has a problem, an injury on his leg, so he is a big question mark for tomorrow,” said Ten Hag. “But we are happy Rapha Varane is back.
“[Rashford] is doubtful, more than doubtful. So [there is] a big question mark.”
