Garnacho is set for a spell on the sideline for club and country after he picked up an injury during an outing for Manchester United.
Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho has been forced to withdraw from the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly matches due to injury.
Garnacho has been left speechless after he left Old Trafford on crutches after a bad tackle from Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters during the goalless draw on Sunday.
Walker-Peters went in with a scissors kick on the 18-year-old and won the ball but left the Manchester United youngster in pain after the tackle.
Garnacho reacts to unfortunate situation
24 hours after the incident at Old Trafford, the United youngster has broken his silence on his injury.
Garnacho took to his social media account to confirm his withdrawal from the upcoming games for the Red Devils and also missing out on a maiden call-up for Argentina.
“It is difficult to put into words how I'm feeling right now," Garnacho said on Instagram.
"Unfortunately I will not be able to help my team and teammates in the upcoming games in what is a very important part of the season for us at Manchester United.”
On missing out on the Argentina games
“I am disappointed to also miss the opportunity to be with my teammates of the Argentinian national team in what would have been a great and proud moment for me and my family,” he added.
