The Law Enforcers coach claims the referee made a wrong decision during their clash against Tusker.

The standard of refereeing in the country continues to come under fire with Kenya Police FC being the latest team to register their disappointment about the handling of their game against Tusker FC at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Law Enforcers, who ended up losing the game 1-0, were denied what looked like a legitimate penalty in the second half when attacking midfielder Alvin Mange'ni was brought down inside the penalty area by Tusker defender Daniel Sakari but referee Dicken Mimisa turned a blind eye to the incident.

Kenya Police coach Francis Baraza believes they deserved a penalty and called referee Mimisa to up his game, as such officiating decisions can demoralize players.

"There was a penalty when one of my players (Alvin Mang'eni) charged towards the ball and was pulled down.

Unfortunately, the referee did not see it, but he made other wrong calls. He is young, but he needs to improve," Baraza said.

Kenya Police's complaint follows the one of Sofapaka, where coach David Ouma slammed referee Susan Nyambura over poor standard of refereeing in their game against Tusker.

However, despite the defeat, the former Kagera Sugar coach Baraza lauded his charges despite failing to shine against the Brewers.

"It was a tough game where we made one mistake and were punished. But I can say that our players did their best, and I am satisfied with their effort," he added.

Next up for Kenya Police is a tough clash against Gor Mahia on Wednesday afternoon. The two teams are separated by over ten points in the league standings, although the Law Enforcers have a game in hand.
