Marcus Rashford is at a crossroad in his career and a move away from Old Trafford is expected this month after falling out with United coach Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford could be heading to Italy to join AC Milan on loan in the January transfer window as his representatives have held talks with the Serie A side.

According to the Daily Mail, AC Milan's interest in Rashford was revealed earlier this month, after the England international admitted he could seek a new challenge away from the Red Devils.

The newly-crowned Italian Super Cup champions held talks with Rashford's brother and agent Dwaine Maynard on January 7 in Milan and further talks are expected soon. Rashford ,27, has missed the last five matches, a period which also coincides with the team's poor run.

German side Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Turkish Super League team Galatasaray, have all shown an interest in the United academy graduate but Milan are thought to be the front runners for the signature of the wantaway hotshot.

The 20-time English Premier League champions United ideally want to sell for £40million and that figure plus his wages of over £325,000-a-week are the major stumbling block. AC Milan are in search of a proven goal scorer and Rashford fits into the calibre of the player the San Siro outfit need.

It was reported that Rashford turned down three offers from Saudi Arabia Pro League in favour of staying in Europe to boost his chances of getting back into the Three Lions fold.

United are desperate to offload players to help give Amorim players more suited to his system. Rashord missed last weekend's 2-2 draw with leaders Liverpool, raising further doubts about his Old Trafford future.
