The Maroons FC captain, who endured a torrid eight months on the sidelines nursing a third metatarsal fracture, returned to the green during the preseason.

Injuries are part of sport, but what counts is how you bounce back, which David Ndihabwe has achieved after recovering from a lengthy injury.

Including featuring prominently in his side's 3-0 emphatic league win over Wakiso Giants on Sunday on match day one.

Ndihambwe says it feels great to be back and ready to go, having had a good preseason with the Luzira-based side.

"It feels good to be back again. I now have had a full preseason under my belt, and I am ready," Ndihabwe added.

"It felt great to be out there again in my first competitive game for the club in over eight months," he told the club website.

The former Express FC combative midfielder adds that focus now shifts to their next league outing against record league winners S.C Villa at home, noting that preparations are underway to pick up maximum points.

"We know they (S.C Villa) pose a very different and difficult challenge, but we have been working on ourselves in training, and we will be ready come Sunday," he stressed.

The two-time Uganda Premier League champions, who won the last meeting when the two sides last met in Luzira, are hoping for a perfect start in the campaign.

The Joogos, on the other hand, are hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Kitara FC on matchday one.

The game on Sunday will kick off at 3 p.m.
