Mathare United are 17th on 22 points, four adrift of the relegation playoff places with two matches remaining.
Mathare United head coach Collins Omondi Korea is keen to help his side avoid relegation in order to uphold the 'rich history' of the club.
The 2008 league champions are at risk of losing their status as a top flight club for the first time in quite a long time, as they currently sit 17th in the log on 22 points, four behind Wazito with two games of the season left to play.
“Mathare United has been a pillar of Kenyan football. Every facet in football has had influence from this institution ranging from coaching to player development in both the female and male’s game,” he said.

The Slum Boys fight to avoid relegation was dealt a big blow on Sunday after losing 1-0 to Kakamega Homeboyz.

It has been a roller-coaster season for Mathare United. The side have been under the guidance of three different coaches, which has resulted in a lack of cohesion given the contrasting methods each coach has brought.
Korea, who claims the side was lacking cohesion when he joined at the beginning of May, believes that his side have played good football particularly in their last three fixtures, but luck has not been on their side.
