The Slum Boys will face Migori Youth as Vihiga take on Gusii United when the second tier kicks off on September 16
Mathare United and Vihiga Bullets have been handed tricky fixtures in their opening matches of the National Super League season which will kick off on September 16.
Mathare suffered relegation from the Premier League for the first time in 17 years while Vihiga went straight down after being elevated to the top flight the previous campaign.
Life in the second tier will, however, get off to a tricky start for Mathare, who are away to Migori Youth on matchday one, while Vihiga visit Gusii United.

The slum boys are looking for an instant return to the top flight and believe the new man has what it takes to achieve their objectives
Migori finished third last season and missed out on promotion after losing 3-0 on aggregate to Wazito FC in the promotion-relegation playoff and are keen to make amends by earning direct promotion which means a good start is a must.
It, therefore, presents a tricky situation for new Mathare coach Leonard Odipo whose brief is to return the Slum Boys to ‘where they belong’ at the first time of asking.

The Migori-based side drew 0-0 at home in the first leg, before falling victim to a Collins Neto-inspired Wazito in the second.
Vihiga, meanwhile, will be keen to avoid another season of struggle, having found wins hard to come by in the top flight last season and exited the league after winning just three of their 34 matches with financial constraints blamed for their woes.
Another opening day fixture to look forward to will be Coastal Heroes at home to Mara Sugar. Mara missed out on the promotion playoff slot to Migori, after a tight fight that saw them finish fourth, and have expressed a desire to be among the top two teams that will earn direct promotion.
