Patrick Kaddu and Peter Lwasa are out injured as Gor Mahia's 20th title chase enters the homestretch.

Patrick Kaddu and Peter Lwasa are out injured, Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan McKinstry has confirmed.

The former Uganda Cranes coach was giving an update on the duo’s absence during their 2-1 win over Bandari in Kenya Premier League.

Kaddu’s new striking partner Benson Omalla scored twice to defeat Umar Kasumba and William Wadri’s side. Shafiq Kagimu was an unused substitute.

“There are a few injuries; Patrick Kaddu and Peter Lwasa picked up some knocks last week. They’ve not been trained since then hence the enforced change,” McKinstry updated.

Title chase

The win maintained Gor Mahia’s lead with 52 points, four ahead of Tusker who have a game at hand.

McKinstry is wary of the threats posed by his opponents but confident they’ll get the job done to win their 20th league title.

“Our destiny is in our own hands and if we do the job, then we don’t have to worry about other teams. I expect some tough games but we’re ready to go the distance,” the Northern Irish man says.
