K'Ogalo came from behing to snatch a 2-1 win over Police.
Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan McKinstry has admitted that it was not easy to get a win against Kenya Police FC on Saturday.
K'Ogalo scored a late winner courtesy of red-hot striker Benson Omala as they edged out the visitors 2-1 at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
McKinstry was impressed by the determination his team showed to keep pushing for a winner right until the closing stages of the match.
"I have liked the character that I have seen in my team. I have never doubted my players from day one, and they have shown it against Police FC.
They caused us real problems and we were really disappointed with the goal we conceded…We came back, showed the mental strength of the team," said McKinstry.

The visitors stunned Gor when they took an early lead through Elvis Rupia after the K'Ogalo defense was left exposed.
However, K'Ogalo responded almost immediately as Dennis Ng'ang'a leveled matters from John Macharia's corner-kick before Omala netted the winner with ten minutes remaining to the end of the match.
"This is only the second time in this season that we have come from behind. It is good to see that reaction from my players.
Three points against Police are worth those against a team at the bottom of the league but the difference in today game is that it was really tough," added McKinstry.
Gor Mahia are now leading the 18-team table with 37 points, four more than second-placed Nzoia Sugar, who managed a 0-0 draw against FC Talanta on Saturday.
