The Harambee Stars captain keeps his relationship private only sharing glimpses of his life with his girlfriend amid their legal battles.

Kenyan football superstar Michael Olunga may be a familiar face on the field but it is his off-pitch life that has lately captured the imagination of many.

Olunga, who currently turns out for Qatar Super League giants Al Duhail, is not just making headlines for his football prowess but also for his closely-guarded personal life particularly his relationship with Grace Edith Akinyi.

Despite being a public figure Olunga has masterfully kept his private life away from the prying eyes of the media.

However, he gave his fans a rare glimpse into his romantic side when he first introduced Grace to the world through a heartfelt post on Instagram in 2019.

The post, which featured photos of the couple with the caption "My favourite," quickly went viral, sending social media into a frenzy.

Olunga's decision to keep his personal life under wraps has not stopped fans from being intrigued by his relationship with Grace.

Described by those who know her as charming and supportive, Grace has been a constant presence by Olunga's side supporting him through various highs and lows of his international career.

The couple's relationship took a more serious turn last year when they were embroiled in a legal battle with a city real estate firm over a disputed Ksh67 million land deal.

According to Olunga, after fulfilling their payment obligations, the company reneged on their promise to transfer the land, prompting suspicions of a fraudulent scheme.

The case, which is still ongoing has shown a different side of Olunga - that of a determined fighter not just on the field but also in his personal endeavors.

On the professional front, Olunga's journey has been nothing short of spectacular.

From his early days at Guizhou Zhicheng in China to making waves in La Liga with Girona FC where he became the first player in the club's history to score a hat-trick Olunga has consistently shown his mettle.

His stint in Japan with Kashiwa Reysol was particularly noteworthy, as he emerged as the top scorer of the 2020 J1 League earning him the Golden Boot and the J-League MVP title - a historic achievement for an African player.

In January 2021, Olunga took another significant step in his career by signing a three-year contract with Al-Duhail.

His time with the Qatari club has been marked by remarkable success including leading the team to the 2022/23 Qatar Stars League title.
