The move was highly anticipated, with fans excited to see him alongside Messi, his long-time friend and international teammate.

However, things did not go as planned. Shortly after Aguero joined the Catalan giants, Messi left for Paris Saint-Germain, and the ex-Manchester City star himself was forced to retire from football due to a heart problem discovered just a few months into his tenure at Barcelona.

The Blaugrana had initially agreed to pay him, but the payment request was denied by an insurance company, leading the club to withhold the money.
