Tusker FC's assistant captain Michael Kibwage discusses the team's tough phase and strategy to overcome their poor league performance.
Tusker FC assistant captain Michael Kibwage has revealed that a poor home form and conceding cheap goals have contributed to their turbulent journey in the 2023/2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.
The Brewers find themselves in an uneasy 13th place, with a mere eleven points from ten games, signaling alarm bells for a squad that narrowly missed out on the league title in the previous campaign.

FKFPL Murang'a Seal sip Tusker as Kakamega Homeboyz cruise past Muhoroni Youth
Tusker suffered their fifth loss of the season at the hands of Seal, while Muhoroni failed to capitalize on their home ground advantage against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Tusker's recent defeat, a 2-1 loss to the newly promoted Murang’a Seal, has put them in an even more precarious position and an unexpected stumble has left fans and players alike searching for answers.
"We are experiencing some challenging moments, but I am confident that we will soon bounce back to top form," Kibwage shared with an air of resilience despite the team's current woes.
The Brewers started on a high note in their latest outing, with John Byamukama finding the net just six minutes in. However, the joy was short-lived as Murang'a Seal's Eric Balecho and Batts Awita combined to overturn the lead, leaving Tusker's early dominance unrewarded.

FOOTBALL Tusker FC’s struggles: Why Robert Matano’s Brewers have lost their taste
Tusker FC have won just two of their seven games so far, leaving Robert Matano hanging onto his job but there are a number of factors that have played against them
Reflecting on the recent struggles, Kibwage highlighted the misfortune the team has faced.
"The goals we've conceded have been unfortunate, but we are determined to bounce back. We must capitalize on our home-field advantage, as many teams this season have been victorious on their own ground. We too must harness this benefit," he emphasized.
The loss, particularly stinging after such a dominant start, has been a tough pill to swallow.
"The loss was disheartening, especially since we began with such a high tempo and dominated most of the first half. However, a single blunder after our initial goal gave our opponents the boost they needed," Kibwage remarked.
Tusker FC is set to face Nairobi City Stars next, a team riding high after a 3-2 victory over AFC Leopards. Kibwage acknowledges the challenge ahead.
"We are aware of their (City Stars) momentum, especially after their last win against AFC Leopards. This undoubtedly serves as inspiration for them, and we recognize that facing them will not be easy,” he conceded.
The task ahead for the Robert Matano-coached team is daunting. With three wins, two draws, and five losses, they stand ten points behind the leaders, Posta Rangers.
