Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga will play alongside former Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto who has joined Al Duhail from Italian side Lazio.
Alberto has officially transferred from the Serie A club to the Qatari club in a deal worth approximately €10 million, including bonuses.
This move follows the player's public demand for a transfer, declaring on live television that his eight-year tenure at the Italian club had come to an end.

Michael Olunga drops major transfer hint after disappointing end to the season
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has sparked transfer speculation with his latest social media post after a poor end to the season with Qatari club Al Duhail.
Despite initially holding out for a €20 million offer, Lazio conceded and finalised the transfer on Tuesday. Alberto had already completed his medical examination for Al-Duhail last week, solidifying the move.
“The club's management has succeeded in completing contract negotiations with Spanish player Luis Alberto, star of the Italian club Lazio, will join the team starting in the new season,” Al Duhail said via a statement on the club’s website.
“The player, born in 1992, arrived in Doha in the early hours of yesterday morning and succeeded in passing the medical examination at Aspetar Hospital.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga continued to showcase his goal scoring prowess as he outscored African stars such as Sadio Mane and Victor Boniface in 2023-24.

A notable aspect of the deal involves Liverpool, Alberto's former club, which sold him to Lazio for €4 million in the summer of 2016.
Due to a clause in the original transfer agreement, Liverpool is entitled to 12 per cent of the sale proceeds, netting the Reds approximately €1.2 million from this transfer.
