Harambee Stars captain wishes South Korean star luck and success in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos.

Kenyan international Michael Olunga has bid farewell to his close teammate, South Korean professional Nam Tae Hee, who has departed from Qatar side Al Duhail to embark on a new chapter in his football career with Japanese club Yokohama F. Marino.

Olunga, who had previously plied his trade in the Japanese league, showcased his proficiency in the language as he took to social media to wish Nam the best of luck in his new adventure.

Olunga's connection with Japan runs deep, having played for Kashiwa Reysol from 2018 to 2021 before making the switch to Al Duhail for a record-breaking transfer fee of 7 million Euros (approximately KSh890m).

His time in Japan not only allowed him to develop as a player but also enabled him to embrace the country's culture and language.

With a heartfelt tweet, Olunga shared a photo with Nam Tae Hee, writing, "Good luck in Japan. Keep shining."

The transfer from Al Duhail to Yokohama F. Marinos marked an exciting opportunity for Nam Tae Hee, who had been with Al Duhail since the 2011/2012 season.

The South Korean talent joined the Qatari club at a young age of 19, making an impactful move from the French club Valenciennes.

On the other hand, Olunga's journey at Al Duhail began in January 2021, when the club signed him for an impressive transfer fee of 7 million Euros (approximately KSh890m).

The Kenyan forward quickly became an integral part of the team and formed strong bonds with his fellow players, including Nam.

Throughout their time together at Al Duhail, Nam and Olunga forged a close friendship both on and off the pitch.

Their camaraderie and mutual respect were evident, as they supported each other through the highs and lows of professional football.

Olunga's transition from Japan's J1 League to the Qatari Stars League proved to be a significant stepping stone in his career.

During his time with Kashiwa Reysol, he demonstrated his prowess as a striker and showcased his adaptability in a foreign league, earning accolades and recognition for his outstanding performances.

His move to Al Duhail only solidified his reputation as one of Africa's finest football exports.
