Michael Olunga's Al Duhail FC has offered free tickets to Kenyan fans in Qatar for the Amir Cup semifinal against Al Sadd.

Michael Olunga’s Al Duhail FC has pledged to distribute over 500 tickets to Kenyan fans in Qatar for their Amir Cup semifinal clash against Qatar Stars League champions Al Sadd.

This generous gesture aims to bolster support and ensure a strong Kenyan presence in the stands.

Olunga, the captain of Harambee Stars, announced this exciting news on his social media platforms, sharing a poster and a contact number for fans to claim their free tickets.

“My boss has made my day. Don’t miss the semifinal game tomorrow,” he captioned his post as translated from Kiswahili.

The announcement follows Olunga’s outstanding performance in the quarterfinals, where he scored twice to lead Al Duhail to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al Arabi at Al Janoub Stadium.

This match was well-attended by Kenyan fans who cheered passionately donned in replica jerseys of the team.

The quarterfinal encounter saw Olunga's first goal come in the eighth minute equalizing Youssef Msakni’s early strike for Al Arabi.

Msakni, however, put Al Arabi back in the lead shortly after, following a pass from Jassim Jaber.

Al Duhail responded with a goal from Philippe Coutinho in the 25th minute, assisted by Almoez Ali, leveling the score before halftime.

In the second half, Al Duhail maintained their offensive momentum. A critical error by Senegalese defender Abdou Diallo allowed Ismail Mohamed to assist Olunga for his second goal, securing the victory.

Looking ahead to the semifinal, Al Duhail defender Ibrahima Diallo emphasized the importance of focus and teamwork in overcoming their formidable opponents.

“We are preparing seriously for our upcoming match against Al Sadd. We need to play a great game and get a result that will qualify the team for the final,” Diallo stated during a pre-match press conference.

Diallo acknowledged Al Sadd’s strength but expressed confidence in his team’s capabilities.

“Al Sadd is a dangerous team, but we are not focusing on any particular player in their squad. We respect Al Sadd as a team, and we are confident in our ability to achieve a positive result," he noted.

He further highlighted the importance of collective effort.

“We need focus to achieve what we want, and we are capable of doing that. I have great confidence in my teammates, whether they are on the pitch or on the bench, and I know that everyone will do their part to help the team qualify," he concluded.

The upcoming semifinal match, scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at Ahmad Ali Stadium, promises to be an exciting encounter.
