The 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season was never short of quality in the middle of the park, but three peeled away from the lot and are thus contesting for the Pilsner End of the season awards.

Wakiso Giants FC's holding midfielder Lawrence Bukenya, Busoga United's star Laban Tibiita and Arua Hill SC's Gadafi Wahab were tussle it out for the Midfielder of the Season.

Bukenya was impressive throughout in the season with his silky passing range and effortless ability to break play, albeit, in a deep-lying midfield role.

Lawrence was superb last season for Wakiso Giants

He managed 23 appearances out of a possible 28, chipping in with a goal as the Purple Sharks finishing eighth with 36 points.

On the other hand, Gadafi Wahab was just as excellent last season with Arua Hill as they rounded off with a top four place (fourth) with 44 points.
