AC Milan were rampant at home against AS Roma, winning 3-1 to move closer to rivals Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A.
Milan destroy Mourinho's Roma - How it happened
Roma started the brighter of the two sides, but it was Milan who went in front against the run of play, when Yacine Adli opened his account for the season with a neat finish inside 11 minutes, as he sat his defender down before striking left-footed into the opposite corner.
They were the width of the crossbar from doubling their lead on the half-hour mark, as Theo Hernández’s cross-come-shot almost embarrassed Mile Svilar on his first league start of the season.
Roma showed attacking intent, with Zeki Çelik's shot saved by Mike Maignan.
The hosts improved in the second half, and Olivier Giroud, assisted by Simon Kjær, doubled their lead. Roma was awarded a penalty, converted by Leandro Paredes, raising hopes of a comeback.
However, Milan sealed the win with a thunderbolt from Theo Hernández after Giroud's setup to hand Mourinho's men a third straight away defeat.
