Moffi has already outscored Osimhen's tally in the French top flight, but he is gunning for another award won by his countryman during his time in France.
Super Eagles star Terem Moffi has been shortlisted for the Marc-Vivien Foe but he will have to battle two other players for the prize.
Moffi was included in the final three-man shortlist alongside Olympique Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba and RC Lens star Seko Fofana.
Moffi recognised for top award
Moffi has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 this season, having scored 17 goals and set up another two in 31 games for both Lorient and Nice.
The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in the first half of the season for Les Merlus and has added another five for The Eagles in the second half.
His performance has now earned him a shot at the Marc-Vivien Foe Award. The Marc-Vivien Foe Award is an award named after the late Cameroonian footballer, who slumped in Cameroon’s Confederations Cup clash against France in 2003.
