Arsenal have announced that Mohamed Elneny has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2024.
Mohamed Elneny has signed a one-year contract extension with Arsenal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2024.
Elneny commits future to Arsenal
The Egypt international who is currently sidelined through injury has now committed his future to the Gunners, at least in the short term.
Speaking to the club's official website, Elneny expressed his delight at extending his stay in north London:
"I'm so happy. I love this club and our supporters so much and I'll give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I'm here.
"It makes me so proud to have represented this amazing club since 2016. The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad right now is so positive and I'm so happy I have extended my contract."
Elneny becomes the third senior player to sign a new contract since the season began, following Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli.
The hope among many supporters is that there will be an announcement regarding the contract situations of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba soon.
Mohamed Elneny joined Arsenal from Swiss side Basel back in January 2016.
The midfielder has made 155 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting 10 times during his seven years with the club.
