A heated exchange between Liverpool and Egypt over Mohamed Salah's fitness has reached a new level of intensity, with national team officials in Cairo claiming difficulties in reaching the injured forward.

Liverpool, concerned about Salah's long-term well-being, emphasized the importance of managing his minutes carefully to prevent further injuries and ensure his peak fitness for the crucial stages of the Premier League season.

They conveyed these concerns to the Egyptian FA in a letter, urging them to prioritize Salah's health over his participation in the upcoming friendly tournament against New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia.

Liverpool's Concerns for Salah's Health

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, had expressed hope for Salah's return to fitness ahead of a crucial match against Manchester City, but the club remains cautious about rushing his recovery.

Egypt, on their part, expressed a desire to mend relations with Liverpool following previous disagreements, notably when Salah left the Africa Cup of Nations early to undergo rehabilitation in Merseyside.

Egyptian doctor Mohamed Abu El-Ela has been in communication with Liverpool's medical team, and El Komy emphasized Egypt's eagerness to resolve any misunderstandings between the two parties.

Liverpool's Plea Rejected by Egypt

Last week, Liverpool made a direct appeal to Egypt, urging them to exempt their star player and captain from an upcoming camp in Abu Dhabi, where Egypt is scheduled to play New Zealand in a friendly tournament.

However, Egypt turned down the request, insisting on their right to evaluate Salah's fitness themselves.

Despite having played only once for Liverpool since his injury during the Africa Cup of Nations group stage, Egypt included Salah in their squad, asserting their autonomy in assessing his condition.

Egyptian Football Association board member Ehab El Komy expressed their inability to communicate with Salah, stating, as reported by Daily Mail, "The Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan, could not communicate with Mohamed Salah so far."
