Liverpool’s £111 million transfer cost was made public by Mail Sport on Friday, prompting Reds supporters to make fun of their rivals.
A Liverpool fan wrote as reported by Daily Mail, “This is hilarious on so many levels. Us, a team that is scared to get their wallet out, outbidding Chelsea, a team that will spend £100m on a paraplegic as long as he's under 18... all because they tried to hijack our target. S***housery from FSG and I'm all for it.

Caicedo REJECTS Liverpool for Chelsea
Moises Caicedo has reportedly turned down Liverpool's proposal, after the Reds reached an agreement with Brighton. He is said to prefer a move to Stamford Bridge.
Another fan said, “'OH MY GOD!!!!! Caicedo IS A RED!!!!! AM I DREAMIN'??? I AM MADE UP, WHAT A PLAYER WE HAVE GOT!!!! BETTER THAN RICE, HE'S BASICALLY KANTE BUT MORE CREATIVE AN CAN SCORE GOALS!!! WHAT A DAY!!! #FSG HAD TO GO ALL OUT FOR US @LFC FANS AN THEY HAVE!!!!! F####N GET IN!!”.
Another fan said, “Let's be clear, £110m is 100% overpaying for a lad with only one full season in the Prem. I also 100% don't give a f***. It's not my money and it just feels nice to be able to do this.”
Another response from a Liverpool fan, “Good Morning Reds. Wow! £110m Moises Caicedo Incredible. But he's perfect for what we need.”
Another added, “What a f****** signing this is, a midfield 3 of Mac Allister - Caicedo - Szoboszlai is incredible #LFC.”
Jamie Carragher feels that his old club did well by striking a £110 million agreement with Brighton, he also claims that Liverpool needs him.
Carragher posted on Twitter, “110M is a big price for Caicedo but Liverpool had to pay big as clubs knew they were desperate.
“But signing two top young players for 145M & selling two of your older players for 52M is great business!”
This comes as a major setback for Mauricio Pochettino's team as Caicedo edge closer to becoming a Liverpool player.
