The former Western Stima player has promised his side will keep fighting in the title race.
Tusker FC defender Kevin Monyi is confident that they can close in on log leaders Gor Mahia as there is a mutual belief in the team that they have all that it takes to retain Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title.
The Brewers roared to a 2-1 win against Mathare United, while Gor Mahia was held to a one-all draw by Ulinzi Stars in their last game.
It was a positive response from Tusker, who had succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Gor, and Monyi says they will not drop more points as they strive to win another league title.
“We are not out of the race and should keep working hard. You saw how well we performed against Mathare United, and that win encourages us that if we keep on pushing, we will retain the title.
After challenges in the past two matches against Police and Gor Mahia we sat down as players for a serious talk together with our coach," said Monyi.
Up next, Tusker will face Posta Rangers away at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday, and they will have another chance to pocket three vital points.
“We respect Posta Rangers as they are a very good side but I want to assure our fans that we are going for a win,” Monyi added.
When the teams met last season at the Ruaraka Grounds in June 2022, Tusker claimed a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Shami Kibwana and Jackson Macharia.
Tusker are currently seated in fifth place on the log with 28 points garnered from 15 matches played this season.
