The Senegalese forward will join Bournemouth in the coming days
Villarreal are set to lose another forward in the space of a few days as Bournemouth agree a deal to take Senegalese sensation, Nicolas Jackson away from Spain just as Tottenham announce the signing of Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal.
Villarreal keen to sell Jackson so soon after Danjuma deal
According to reports, Jackson is set to undergo medicals ahead of a move to Bournemouth after agreeing personal terms with the club and after Bournemouth and Villarreal agreed on terms of a deal totalling €25.5 million for the 21-year-old striker.
The move comes on the same da that Villarreal also announced the departure of Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma on a loan deal to Tottenham and could potentially leave the Yellow Submarine light up top.
Danjuma’s exit and Jackson’s impending exit leave Villarreal with only Gerard Moreno and 35-year-old Jose Luis Morales as recognised centre-forwards in the team.
Given the age profiles of both players, it appears to be a risky move, especially if one or both of their remaining frontmen pick up injuries and/or suspensions at any point in the remainder of the season.
Nicolas Jackson can continue his incredible groth
Nico Jackson has enjoyed a good breakout season with Villareal and has contributed directly to four goals in eight LaLiga starts this season.
Villarreal would have hated to see one of their shining jewels and most promising talents leave the club but will be happy with the financial windfall that comes from the deal.
Jackson, who can also play on the wings, will be a major signing for Bournemouth as they look to fight relegation this season.
His form for Villarreal even saw him finally make his debut for Senegal at the 2022 World Cup and now has the chance to bring his electrifying runs to England with Bournemouth.
They could look to improve other areas of their squad or decide to go for a permanent replacement for Jackson.
