Manchester City are expected to be without star striker Erling Haaland for their Carabao Cup tie against Watford on Tuesday.

Erling Haaland will miss Manchester City's Carabao Cup clash against Watford on Wednesday due to a personal bereavement.

The Norwegian striker has returned home following the passing of Ivar Eggja, a close family friend and mentor who played a significant role in Haaland's career and personal life.

According to reports, Haaland was granted compassionate leave by City, allowing him to attend Eggja's funeral.

Despite the passing of his close friend more than a week ago, the City man featured in recent matches against Brentford, Arsenal, and Inter Milan.

His absence is not expected to last until the weekend, with Manchester City traveling to the north of England to face Eddie Howe's Newcastle.

Haaland has scored 10 goals across 6 games in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City star midfielder Rodri is expected to miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury, sustained during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Reports claim exploratory tests have been done and the Spaniard was found to have ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and had been ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
