‘It is an issue’ - Ghana coach slams CAF for pairing Nigeria with Black Stars after elimination
Ghana coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has reacted with a strong message about the CHAN qualification drawings to the Confederation of African Football.
Despite coach Lamine Ndiaye's pre-match confidence, where he emphasised the team's preparations and lessons learned from their previous encounter against Young Africans, the outcome was disappointing.
"We are prepared to play against Young Africans... Tomorrow(today) is another game, an important game but not a decisive game," Ndiaye had stated, expressing his belief in a potential victory, according to a CAF report.
Mazembe began the match positively, taking the lead with a penalty converted by Alioune Badara Faty in the 16th minute.
However, their advantage was short-lived as Young Africans quickly responded with a powerful performance.
Clement Mzize emerged as the standout player, scoring two goals, including a spectacular long-range effort that turned the tide in favour of the home side.
This victory was crucial for Young Africans, marking their first win in four matches of the group stage, while TP Mazembe remain at the bottom of the table with no wins and only two points from four matches.
The team's inability to capitalise on early leads and their defensive lapses have raised concerns about their prospects in this year's competition.
TP Mazembe will need to regroup and address their shortcomings if they hope to turn their fading hopes around with just two matches left to play.
