SC Villa assistant manager Morley Byekwaso's contract as Uganda Cranes' interim head coach has expired.

FUFA appointed Byekwaso in a deal running from October 3 to October 31, 2023, following the sacking of head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.

URA FC's Fred Muhumuza was appointed the interim assistant, Billy Kiggundu was the interim goalkeeping coach, and Felix Ayobo was the interim fitness coach. They have also run down their contracts.

The former KCCA FC head coach took charge of two international friendly games in October against Mali and Zambia.

Mali edged the Uganda Cranes 1-0 in Bamako on Thursday, October 13, while Zambia were 3-0 winners in Dubai on Tuesday, October 17.

For now, the national football team will only have a manager once FUFA hires a new head coach ahead of a busy November international window.

The Uganda Cranes will commence their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign this month.

Guinea and Somalia are the opponents Uganda will start with on Wednesday, November 15 and Saturday, November 18, with both games taking place in Morocco.
