Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning a return to the English Premier League.

Former Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League.

According to a report in The Guardian, Mourinho has set his sights on Newcastle United, with current boss Eddie Howe reportedly under pressure.

The Fenerbahce boss has a good relationship with Newcastle chairman Yasir al-Rumayyan, and the belief is that he will leverage that friendship to seal a return to England.

The report further states that Jose's representatives are keeping a close eye on developments at the club, and are reaching out to intermediaries to stay informed about any potential opening.

The pressure is on Howe, who guided Newcastle to Champions League qualification in 2023, but has struggled to replicate that success this term.

After finishing seventh in the Premier League last year, the Magpies currently sit 11th after 10 games and have been inconsistent throughout.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce are currently third in the Turkish league, five points adrift of leaders Galatasaray.
