Fenerbahce started the game brightly and dominated the possession, with several chances in the first 20 minutes.
However, in the 24th minute, the away side took the lead when Dusan Tadic received the ball after one of the defenders failed to make a clearance and sent the ball into the back of the net.
Mourinho's side took their one-goal advantage into the break after a commanding first-half performance.
The second half started and Samsunspor became a different side, pushing forward, leading to the equaliser.
Emre Kilinc teed up Carlo Holse inside the box and he rolled the ball into the bottom left corner and past Dominik Livakovic.
Fenerbahce regrouped and took the lead again after Allan Saint-Maximin made a great solo run and pulled the trigger from inside the box, beating Okan Kocuk.
The home team kept pushing and got the equaliser late in the game when Soner Aydogdu latched on to a precise pass into the box and released a low effort that ended up in the net.
It was already too late for Fenerbahce to respond with just a few minutes left, with the home side holding on till the final whistle.
