Victor Osimhen has scored eight goals in nine games for Galatasaray and their closest rivals are getting jealous
Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are reportedly eyeing a bid to bring Nigerian star Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, to the club.
Galatasaray enjoying Osimhen impact
Osimhen’s remarkable performances for Galatasaray, where he has scored eight goals and provided four assists in just nine appearances, have caught the attention of Fenerbahce’s leadership.
Since making his summer loan move from Napoli, Osimhen has spearheaded Galatsaray’s attack, especially in the absence of the injured Mauro Icardi.
Osimhen is currently Galatsaray’s top scorer and is already in double digits for goal contributions before his 10th appearance in all competitions for the club, breaking a 10-year record in the league in the process.
The Super Eagles star’s goals have fired Galatasaray to the top of the Super Lig, where the reigning champions have won 10 of their 11 matches and sit five points ahead of Fenerbahce.
Fenerbahce enters the race for Osimhen
After seeing Osimhen’s impact on the Turkish Super Lig, Fenerbahce’s Sporting Director Mario Branco has reportedly initiated talks with Napoli's Sporting Director Giovanni Manna to discuss Osimhen’s transfer terms.
Although Napoli initially set a hefty price tag of €75 million on Osimhen, Fenerbahce is rumoured to be preparing a competitive bid to surpass Galatasaray’s reported offer of €50 million.
Napoli is looking for €25 million upfront, and Fenerbahce’s willingness to meet this demand could significantly raise their chances of securing the striker.
The 25-year-old forward has expressed happiness at Galatasaray and stated his intention to stay through the end of the season, but Fenerbahce’s increasing interest has cast doubt on his future with Galatasaray, with potential offers expected to create a bidding war.
