Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi’s Motherwell FC pulled off a stunning victory over Scottish Premiership table leaders Rangers FC.
The Well edged the Teddy Bears 2-1 at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow on Saturday evening.
Thelonius Bair broke the deadlock inside the opening ten minutes and the visitors managed to hold on for a first-half lead.
However, Stuart Kettlewell’s charges conceded a penalty at the hour mark which James Tavernier converted to draw the hosts level.
With a quarter of an hour left on the clock, Dan Casey restored Motherwell’s lead which proved crucial, grabbing all three points for the Steelmen.
Motherwell maintained their eighth position with 32 points from 29 games and will host Aberdeen on March 16 for their next game.
On the other hand, Rangers who are on 70 points after the same number of games could slip into the second position on Sunday.
Defending champions Celtic FC with 68 points have a chance to leapfrog Rangers in the first position when they visit third-placed Hearts FC.
