Bandari declawed Sofapaka's paws with second half strikes from James Kinyanjui and Hassan Abdallah

Bandari interim coach Twahir Muhiddin has praised his team’s patience in the second half against Sofapaka that reaped rewards, as the coast-based outfit came out 2-0 winners in their league encounter played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After being held to a 0-0 draw in the first half, they came out victorious in the second half thanks to goals from Hassan Abdallah and James Kinyanjui.

“We did not play very well in the first half because we were making too many loose balls,” he said. “ I instructed our players to use the ball better in the second half.

“ We were calmer in the second half and we reaped rewards for it. We knew the home team (Sofapaka) would take more risks, so we just needed to stay patient and we reaped rewards for it.”

The experienced tactician says he aimed to stop the bleed that had occurred by the time the club parted ways with Anthony Modo Kimani in May by ‘restoring the club’s reputation’ which has worked so far.

“ I said I would try to restore our reputation and I am happy that things have gone well so far. The players are full of belief now.

“ We need the players to believe in themselves. With efficient communication and proper rest which they deserve so that they can be revived given their fatigue and they have been reaping rewards.”

Bandari are sixth on 54 points and have won five and drawn two of the seven fixtures that they have played under Muhidin
