The brace sent Steven Mukwala to second on the scorers’ chart with ten goals, two adrift of Mizark Afriye of Berekum Chelsea.

Uganda Cranes striker Steven Mukwala returned from the international break with a brace for his club Asante Kotoko dispatched Real Tamale United 4-1 in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Augustine Agyapong curled a 36th-minute freekick to give the defending champions the lead into the break.

Agyapong scored from a freekick after goalkeeper Osei Yaw was judged to have handled the ball outside the box and handed his marching orders.

Mukwala, who had missed a couple of chances in the opening stanza, returned energized with his first only two minutes into the second half.

The Uganda Cranes forward calmly converted from the spot after Gadafi Iddrisu handled a pass that was aimed at the former taxman inside the six.

He completed his brace shortly after the hour after running through to find Agyapong’s through pass before chipping over the advancing keeper for Kotoko’s third.

The goal took Kotoko to 35 points, six behind the leaders, Aduana, with two games at hand.

The brace sent Mukwala to second on the scorers’ chart with ten goals, two adrift of Mizark Afriye of Berekum Chelsea.
