Pulse Sports Uganda, on solid grounds, understands the tactician will assume head coaching duties at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

A familiar dawn of events is set to unfold at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, with KCCA FC all but done with the re-appointment of Mike Hillary Mutebi.

Pulse Sports Uganda, on solid grounds, understands the tactician will assume head coaching duties at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Mutebi parted ways with KCCA in 2021 after poor results and allegations of interference in his work by a section of administrators.

The development comes under a week since the club appointed Jackson Mayanja as the interim head coach following the resignation of Morley Byekwaso.

In an interesting turn of affairs, Mutebi will have, Mayanja as his deputy when he assumes office.

This website has also learnt Mutebi recommended Mayanja for the interim job.

It is also alleged that Mutebi recommended that KCCA FC part ways with Badru Kaddu, Richard Malinga and Fahadie Yahaya Walugembe from their roles as assistant coach, junior team head coach, and team scout, respectively.

Nsanziro Sam Charles Ssenyange and Saka Mpiima thereby took up the assistant coach and junior team head coach roles, also at Mutebi's recommendation.

KCCA, under Mutebi's most recent reign, attained three league titles, two Uganda Cups, four Super Cups and One CECAFA Clubs Cup over five years, making him the most successful manager in the club’s history.

He has previously managed at Miracle FC (1993 to 1995), KCCA (1996 to 1997), Simba (1998 to 2003), Maroons (2007 to 2008), SC Villa in 2011, and AS Kigali in 2022.

He also coached the national senior football team, the Cranes, in 2004.
