It's a shame — Plumptre pens heartwarming message after missing Olympics squad
Super Falcons ace Ashleigh Plumptre expressed disappointment over missing Randy Waldrum's Olympics 18-woman squad.
Plumptre message to Super Falcons
Ashleigh Plumptre has wished the Super Falcons the very best in their quest for gold at the Olympics.
The defender was left out of Randy Waldrum’s squad after sustaining a knee injury that later required surgery.
The Suadi Arabian star posted on her official X account saying, “Wishing this group the very best as they start their Olympic journey tonight. My heart is with you 💚🇳🇬 @NGSuper_Falcons.”
Having chosen to change her nationality, Plumptre has been a crucial member of the Falcons team since the World Cup, where she led Nigeria's qualifying campaign for the Olympics.
However, she was unable to partake in the final qualifying game against South Africa, as she had suffered a foot injury with her club, Al-Nassr, and had to undergo surgery.
