Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has reacted to being omitted from the CAF Player of the Year nomination, despite last season’s impressive performance.
The nomination for the CAF Player of the Year award was released officially today as the ceremony draws near.
The event is set to take place on the 16th of December at the usual location in Marrakech, Morocco.
However, following the released list by CAF, Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface was not among the nominees for the award.

Boniface reacts to CAF nomination
Boniface has shared his thoughts on the list for the Player of the Year award released on the CAF official X account.
The striker replied to a post from Leagues Reporter on X that highlighted all of Boniface’s achievements last season
The post says “Boniface won the Bundesliga, won DFB-Pokal, Europa silver medalist, scored 21 goals, assisted 10 goals and played 34 matches.
“Boniface Victor didn't make it to the list of nominated players for CAF Player of The Year. This is a big surprise 😮.”
The Super Eagles striker replied under the post, “Rookie of the Season, Team of the Season. No worry I no play AFCON, Na why I dey wait for memes d’Or.”
The forward claimed that he is only waiting for the memes d’Or award since that is what he mostly posts on social media.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles stars Ademola Lookman and Troost-Ekong were the only Nigerians to make the CAF Player of the Year award final shortlist.
