The Namilyango College Old Boys' Association (NACOBA) concluded its 14th annual sports gala on March 9, 2024, with Dream Team, Tyrants, and Knights emerging as champions.
The Guinness-sponsored event at the MUBS in Nakawa drew old boys from various graduating classes together in a display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
This year's gala, a testament to the enduring spirit of Namilyango College, featured a wide range of sports including soccer, rugby, and basketball among others, drawing participation from over 18 teams representing cohorts from 1980 to 2022.
Andrew Mutono Kakooza, the Vice President of NACOBA, highlighted the gala's role in reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood amongst alumni and supporting the ongoing success of Namilyango College.
"The NACOBA Sports Gala transcends the typical sporting event, offering a unique reunion for the Namilyango family to celebrate our heritage and support each other in every walk of life," Kakooza remarked.
The evening was further enlivened by the Double Black Band, delivering a musical experience that kept the spirit of celebration alive well into the night.
As Namilyango College continues to excel both academically and in sports, the NACOBA sports gala stands as a highlight event, showcasing the talents and achievements of its alumni, while also offering a moment of fun and nostalgia for all attendees.
Founded with the mission to foster fellowship and support among alumni, NACOBA unites over 6,000 members in their shared dedication to the growth and prosperity of their alma mater and each other.
