Despite the brilliant performances of Super Eagles stars led by Victor Osimhen and Boniface, an ex-Man City star and Super Falcons defender stole the show.

Nigerian players, including Super Eagles and Super Falcons stars made it a busy weekend for Naija Stars Abroad led by Victor Osimhen, Ashleigh Plumptre and a former Manchester City forward.

In what can be described as a good weekend of football for Naija Stars Abroad, superstars like Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman were outclassed and dazzled by the duo of Plumptre and Kayode.

The Super Falcons and forgotten Super Eagles forward turned on the style to emerge as the key contenders for Naija Stars Abroad’s weekly prize - Baller of the Week.

In a remarkable head-to-head battle, Plumptre’s return to fitness saw her put in a solid performance as Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad thrashed their hosts 13-1, with Plumptre decisive.

The 26-year-old scored one and assisted three more in a woman-of-the-match contender display in the Saudi’s SAFF Women’s Cup.

However, just when Plumptre thought she would run away with the Baller of the Week, 31-year-old former Manchester City man, Kayode, reminded everyone of his immerse talent.

The striker stole the show after his excellent hattrick propelled his second division club in Turkey Şanlıurfaspor to comprehensive 4-1 away win at the weekend.

Super Eagles Superstars

Despite the amazing display from Kayode and Plumptre, the Super Eagles players also delivered a stunning outing led by African Player of the year, Victor Osimhen.

The 25-year-old continued his brilliant form for new club Galatasaray after a super-sub show against Antalyaspor.

Osimhen came off the bench for Mauro Icardi, who netted a brace, to steal the show with an excellent bicycle kick goal in their 3-0 win.

Chukwueze showed AC Milan why they splashed the cash on him after he netted the winner in a 1-0 win against national teammate Maduka Okoye in the Serie A.

Ademola Lookman failed to shine on his birthday for Atalanta, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Nigeria’s hero against Libya in Uyo, was a spectator for Lazio in that defeat to Juventus.

Victor Boniface put his international nightmare behind him to lead Bayer Leverkusen to victory with another goal, his fifth goal in seven matches this season in Germany.
