Ademola Lookman was the star for Naija Stars Abroad at the weekend with Ola Aina and Ifeoma Onumonu in superb form.

CAF Player of the Year contender Ademola Lookman, his Super Eagles teammate Ola Aina and two Super Falcons superstars saved Naija Stars Abroad's blushes at the weekend.

In an otherwise quiet weekend for Nigerians abroad, Lookman showed why he is the frontrunner for CAF’s top award in 2024.

Lookman, who recently turned 27, continued his fine form for club and country with another man of the match display for Atalanta in the Serie A.

The Super Eagles stole the show with a brace as Atalanta shutdown leaders Napoli and their managers Antonio Conte 3-0 in a one-sided affair at the Maradona Stadium.

It was the latest show from the Nigerian superstar and latest member of the prestigious Ballon d’Or elite list.

Another player who continued his fine form this season is Super Eagles defender and Premier League star Ola Aina.

Aina celebrated his first goal of the season for the Tricky Reds after a sensational goal worthy of an award in their 3-0 win against West Ham United.

In the Championship, there seems to be no stopping Josh Maja after his eighth goal of the season in 13 matches for West Bromwich Albion, who were without Maja’s injured compatriot Semi Ajayi.

Josh Maja is a man in fine form for WBA.

Two Super Falcons stars Ifeoma Onumonu and Monday Gift joined the standout Naija Stars Abroad with fantastic displays in France and Spain respectively.

Onumonu ended her drought for Montpellier after a goal and an assist performance in their 7-0 win against Guingamp.

The striker has struggled to find the back of the net since her move but would be elated after breaking her dock in style.

In Liga-F, Monday showed why she’s one of Nigeria’s most talented striker out there with a woman of the match display.

Monday continued her fine form with a goal and an assist like her national teammate Onumonu as she inspired Athletic Bilbao’s 2-1 win against UD Tenerife.

In Turkey Olawoyin Ibrahim’s playmaking brilliance which produced an assist did not save his Rizespor from defeat in the Super Lig while Olanrewaju Kayode made it four goals in his last three matches in the Turkish second division.

Other Naija Stars Abroad

While the Lookman-led crew kept the green and white flag flying high, it was rather quiet from the other Nigerian and Super Eagles stars.

Victor Boniface was caged at home by Stuttgart despite having the chances to add to his goal tally this season.

Nigeria's Victor Boniface had a night to forget against Stuttgart.

Maduka Okoye endured an unlucky night against Serie A giants Juventus after scoring an own goal in a 2-0 defeat at home.

Samuel Chukwueze and Milan claimed a narrow win at Monza, but the Super Eagle failed to inspire much in his 81 minutes on the pitch.
