Naija Stars Abroad dazzle with goals, assists, and drama from Basel to Benfica, led by the little-known Nigerian winger Otele, Super Eagles main man Victor Osimhen and more.

Naija Stars Abroad lit up leagues across Europe this weekend, with some unexpected heroes stealing the show! Move over, household names; it’s time for the underdogs to shine.

In Switzerland, Philip Otele, the 25-year-old Basel dynamo, turned heads with a jaw-dropping performance in a 4-0 demolition of FC Zurich.

Otele wasn’t just involved; he owned the game, scoring twice and setting up Xherdan Shaqiri for another. Talk about announcing yourself in style!

Over in Turkey, Victor Osimhen kept his hot streak sizzling, netting the decisive goal in Galatasaray’s triumph over Samsunspor.

That’s 21 league goals and counting for the Super Eagles striker, as the Lions roar louder at the top of the Super Lig. Who’s stopping this man?

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Nigeria’s big names. Ademola Lookman hit a rough patch, firing blanks in Atalanta’s 2-0 win over Bologna.

Osimhen has scored 29 goals this season for Galatasaray.

Five games without a goal? The Bergamo faithful are itching for their star to rediscover his spark.

Meanwhile, David Okereke proved he’s no footnote, orchestrating Gaziantep FK’s comeback 2-1 win against Hatayspor with a clutch assist.

Less heralded but just as vital, Okereke’s making waves. On the flip side, Ibrahim Olawoyin and Rizespor tasted defeat, reminding us how fine the margins are.

In Serie A, it was a mixed bag. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru held his own in Lazio’s 1-1 draw with Roma, while Samuel Chukwueze warmed the bench as AC Milan ran riot, humiliating Maduka Okoye’s side 4-0. Ouch, tough day at the office for the goalkeeper.

Spain’s LaLiga saw Sadiq Umar grind out an hour in Valencia’s gritty win over Chidera Ejuke’s Sevilla, but Chrisantus Uche and Getafe had a weekend to forget.

The Premier League wasn’t kind to all, either. Ola Aina’s Nottingham Forest were stunned 1-0 at home by Everton, while Wilfred Ndidi and Leicester City scrapped a hard-earned point against Brighton. Every point counts in the survival race!

Down in the EFL Championship, Muhamed Tijani played the hero, coming off the bench to score a dramatic late winner for Plymouth in a thrilling comeback against Sheffield United.

On the women’s stage, Christy Ucheibe smashed a goal for Benfica, helping them clinch the Portuguese Women’s League title in style.

Across the border in France, Jennifer Echegini snapped a four-game drought with a goal and an assist in PSG’s 6-0 rout of Reims. Queens on fire!

But it wasn’t all celebrations. In Germany, Nathan Tella and Victor Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen stumbled again, held to a goalless draw by Union Berlin.

Tella’s afternoon ended early with an injury, while Boniface couldn’t ignite as a sub. Is the Bundesliga title slipping away?

From unsung gems like Otele to established stars like Osimhen, Nigeria’s finest are leaving their mark—some louder than others. Who’ll grab the headlines next week?
