While foreign clubs can activate his €75 million release clause, Juventus and other Italian teams will have to negotiate directly with Napoli, a process that could derail any potential move to Turin.

Juventus face tough battle for Osimhen

Juventus has been eyeing Osimhen as a priority signing for next season, but Napoli’s stance on selling to a domestic rival remains a major roadblock.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the release clause in Osimhen’s contract is only valid for foreign clubs, meaning that any Serie A side, Juventus included, must sit at the negotiation table and agree on a separate fee.

Given that Osimhen has been in red-hot form at Galatasaray, scoring 26 goals in 30 matches, Napoli is unlikely to accept anything below his foreign release clause.

Osimhen and Napoli have a soured relationship at the moment.

The Partenopei are keen to avoid strengthening a direct rival, especially with Juventus already plotting an ambitious summer rebuild.

Osimhen weighing his next move

Despite the complications, Osimhen himself is reportedly open to joining Juventus, reuniting with Cristiano Giuntoli, the man who first brought him to Napoli in 2020.

However, with Napoli expected to demand a higher fee than the €75 million clause, Juventus may struggle to meet the asking price.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has also attracted interest from Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United, all of whom could trigger the release clause without the need for negotiations.

With Galatasaray’s vice president Abdullah Kavukcu confirming that Osimhen will announce his decision next month, the Nigerian striker’s future remains a hot topic.

Whether he ends up in Turin or heads abroad, his next move will be one of the most closely watched transfers of the summer.
