Breakdown of all four Uefa Nations League quarterfinal clashes involving Germany, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, France and Croatia.
The UEFA Nations League served up tasty quarter-final ties across the board. While Germany did the business in regular time against Italy, three games—Portugal vs. Denmark, France vs. Croatia, and Spain vs. the Netherlands—all needed extra time to determine the winner, with the latter two even going to penalties.
Germany, Portugal, France, and Spain all came out on top in their respective matches, setting up colossal clashes for the semi-final. Germany will face Portugal, while the 2021 finalists France and Spain will play for the second spot in the final.

Portugal vs Denmark
The Danes came into today's clash having won the first leg. Portugal rushed out the gate in the second leg at the Avelade and should have gone ahead early on through Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Al Nassr star missed from the spot.
He eventually redeemed himself in the 72nd minute, lifting a Bruno Fernandes rebounded shot over Kasper Schmeichel to give Selcao a 2-1 lead at the time and 2-2 on aggregate.
Christian Eriksen then equalised in the 76th minute to put the Danes up on aggregate. They came close to knocking out Roberto Martinez’s side but for late heroics from former Barcelona winger Francisco Trincao, who scored to force extra time and then scored in overtime to put Portugal ahead on aggregate. Goncalo Ramos scored once more for the hosts to seal the victory.

Spain vs the Netherlands
No two European nations are as associated with beautiful football as Spain and the Netherlands. Hence, it came as no surprise that they delivered crackers across both legs.
2-2 in Holland, 3-3 after extra time on Valencia, penalties were needed. Both sides scored their first three attempts before Noa Lang ruined the perfect run. Lamine Yamal failed to capitalise, missing Spain's fourth attempt as well.
The deciding penalties were the sixth, as Barcelona's Pedri scored after Aston Villa’s Donyel Malen had missed.

France vs Croatia
The ageless Modric led his gutsy Croatia side to a remarkable 2-0 victory against a listless France in the first leg.
Les Bleus can never be ruled out, however, and in the second leg, against their fellow finalist at the 2018 World Cup, they completed a remarkable comeback, winning 2-0 on the night to draw 2-2 on aggregate.
Then came time for penalties after neither side scored in extra time. Imprecision was the order of the day, as both sides missed a combined five penalties. However, Les Bleus triumphed as they missed one fewer.

Germany vs Italy
Although this was settled in regular time, it was equally thrilling as the other three ties that ran concurrently. Germany came back to beat Italy 2-1 in the first leg, and that Leon Goretzka winner proved the deciding factor in the tie, as they played a 3-3 draw in the second leg.
Julien Nagelsmann’s side raced into a 3-0 lead in the first-half and looked to have wrapped up the tie in a neat bow; however, the Azzurri were not to go down so easily. With a brace from Mouse Kean and a late Giacomo Raspadori strike from the spot, Luciano Spaletti’s team had restored parity in the match; however, they could not manage one more to force extra time before referee Szymon Marciniak ended the game.
