Turkey took the lead 10 minutes to half time but two quick goals in the second half sent them home.

The Netherlands emerged victorious in probably the most entertaining fixture of the euro 2024 competition so far.

in the first half, the Netherlands were not themselves as they found themselves defending for most of the first half.

Towards the last 10 minutes of the first 45, Arda Guler delivered a cross into the box with his weak foot and defender Akaydin rose highest to score his first ever international goal.

This was Guler's third goal involvement in the competition. In the second half, he almost score to add to his tally when his long range freekick bounced off the bottom of the keeper's post.

Moments later Türkiye showed real intent to score with attempts from far out. Kenan Yildiz struck from 20-yards out and stung Bart Verbruggen's gloved and left him in an uncomfortable position.

Just like Guler's moment, Memphis Depay picked up a short pass from a short corner and delivered a smooth cross into the box

Stefan de Vrij rose to the occasion and nodded the ball in passed Turkey's goal keeper to break thosands of hearts in the stadium.

Türkiye started to feel the pressure as Netherlands continued to turn on the heat. 6 minutes later, a low ball from the right back position of Netherlands found Mert Müldür who tuned it into his own net in an attemot to defend Gakpo who was running at him.

The Netherlands did enough afterwards to keep out Türkiye. Although they were pressed really hard when Türkiye delivered pacy crosses into the box that kept finding Cenk Tosun who was not able to convert.

The Netherlands march on to meet England in a semi final that promises to be as entertaining as this one. For Türkiye, this is a statement to the world of what they can do on the international competition stage.
