Labbadia was earlier announced by the NFF as the new Super Eagles coach, but the deal didn't sail through due to Germany tax regulations.
German tactician Bruno Labbadia has made a shocking revelation on social media, hinting that he could take over as the new Super Eagles coach.
Labbadia was announced as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles after Finidi George resigned from his position just two games into his tenure following a disastrous start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

But in the latest turn of events, Labbadia recently shared on his social media that the next chapter is Nigeria with the caption, "New chapter 🇳🇬," he posted on Instagram.
However, the NFF has yet to comment on this or make any official statement regarding the appointment of Labbadia.
NFF and Bruno Labbadia back story
The NFF confirmed that Labbadia had agreed to personal terms but German tax regularities made him miss Nigeria's AFCON qualifiers.
“We have been on the tax issue for the past three days, and I told him clearly that there was no way the NFF will agree to offset the concomitant tax percentage on his salary that will be demanded by German tax authorities. It is not possible for us to shoulder the responsibility of shelling out another money, between 32% to 40% of his salary, after paying the agreed monthly wage.

Ademola Lookman: Reason behind Super Eagles star's failed transfer move to PSG
The reasons behind Atalanta and Paris Saint-Germain’s failed negotiation for Ademola Lookman have been disclosed.
“The NFF and Mr. Labbadia reached an agreement in principle before we made the announcement that he would become the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. The tax details were never part of our discussions, and he had personally agreed to all terms before the tax issue came up. We were doing our best to be flexible in the discussions but he was adamant that the NFF had to pay the full tax amount as well. We simply cannot do that,” President of NFF, Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
If confirmed, however, Labbadia is expected to take over from NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to victory against the Benin Republic and shared spoils against Rwanda.
