Wekundu wa Msimbazi claimed the defender had moved on loan, but new claims emerge that that is not  the case.

Kenyan defender Joash Onyango is said to have permanently moved to Singida Fountain Gate, despite claims he was loaned out by Simba SC.

Although the transfer to the moneybags was expected to end long-term speculation around Onyango's future, new intrigue has cropped up as claims have emerged that he terminated his contract with Simba and moved permanently.

According to Mwanaspoti, Simba wanted to complete the signing of Che Fondoh Malone from CotonSport of Cameroon before they could discuss Onyango's affairs later. Malone is understood to have been signed as a replacement for the Kenyan defender.

After photos of Onyango at Singida emerged, Simba claimed he had been loaned out to the ambitious Mainland Premier League side, alongside Habib Kyondo. However, the publication claims Onyango has moved permanently and is no longer contracted with Wekundu wa Msimbaazi.

Onyango had signed a two-year contract with Simba when he came in 2020; he extended it last season, and the new contract was set to end in the middle of the 2023–24 campaign.

However, Onyango wanted the contract terminated so that he could join Singida and be part of the team that will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

"Onyango did not accept Simba's option of loaning him out because he had already been offered a good deal by Singida. He wanted the contract at Simba terminated so that he could start a new life at a different club," Mwanaspoti reports.

"He has already signed a two-year contract at Singida and has been registered as one of the players to feature in Confederation Cup duties."

At Singida, he has joined former teammates at Simba, including Jonas Mkude, Mohamed Quattara, Victor Akpan, Augustino Okrah, Nelson Okwa, Gadiel Michael, Erasto Nyoni, and Beno Kakolanya.
